Where to watch field hockey in Australia

If you say the word “hockey” in North America, most people are going to assume you’re talking about ice hockey. Say the same word in Australia, and it’s likely people will think you’re talking about field hockey. The latter hockey is more popular in Australia, which means there are multiple options for streaming field hockey, including some of the best sports streaming services.

LiveHockey covers national matches as well as broadcasted bouts across the major states and territories. It isn’t free, though. Prices start at $4.99 for a day pass and there are also tournament passes with varying prices. Otherwise, there’s a $9.99 monthly fee or an $89.99 annual cost (equivalent to roughly nine months instead of 12).

For international field hockey tournaments, check in with the official International Hockey Federation (FIH) YouTube channel, which has live matches, replays and highlights.

Kayo Sports and the Sport channel for Foxtel Now are also home to a selection of international field hockey matches, including Hockey One as well as men and women’s matches for the FIH Pro League. Foxtel Now costs $54 a month to cover either the Essentials Pop or Lifestyle base subscription and the Sport add-on (which includes two HD streams). Kayo Sport is exclusively sports-focused, and prices are either $25 for one HD stream, $30 for two HD streams or $35 for three HD streams.

Kayo Sports or Foxtel Now was the place to watch the FIH Men’s World Cup 2023. All matches were broadcast live but, at the time of writing, weren’t easily accessible as replays on Kayo.
