What is fuboTV?

In the past, we’ve always thought of fuboTV as thee sports streaming service. But in the past couple of years, fuboTV has made some changes to be perfect for sports fans and families.

fuboTV has more sports channels than any other live TV streaming service (or any TV service, for that matter), and its channel lineup also includes channels for kids, entertainment, lifestyle, and news.

If you’re shopping for a new streaming service or looking to get rid of cable TV, fuboTV is a solid choice. We’ll go over all of the fuboTV details to find out if this is your next live TV service.

Pros
  • You’ll get lots of sports channels.
  • You’ll also get tons of channels for everyone in the family.
  • fuboTV has a DVR storage of 1,000 hours.
Cons
  • fuboTV doesn't have Turner Network channels, such as TNT, TBS, and CNN.
  • This service also doesn't have HBO.

How much does fuboTV cost?

With fuboTV, you get loads of channels for a reasonable price

fuboTV gives you each channel for about 46 cents on average! That's more bang for your buck than any live TV streaming service on the market.

With YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV, you’re paying about 75 cents to $1 per channel, and they're only in the 85-channel range.

fuboTV is up there in our book because there's no other streaming service in the industry that gives you more than 140 channels for $75, more than 200 channels for $85, or more than 215 channels for $95.

But before you make the leap with fuboTV, jump down below to the channels section or take a look at the full channel lineup as fuboTV does have some fluff channels.

What is the fuboTV's Latino plan?

If your Abuelo only speaks Spanish, you can get 45 Spanish-language channels for $33 per month. This package includes Zona Fútbol, FOX Deportes, Univision, and beIN Sports en Español.

Does fuboTV have a contract or fees?

Until the end of 2022, fuboTV didn't have any extra fees.

Now, fuboTV charges an $9 regional sports fee! No other live TV streaming service has a regional sports fee (and we hope this isn't the beginning).

Which channels does fuboTV have?

fuboTV has all of the sports channels you need, and you’ll also find lifestyle, kids, and news channels for the fam

The Pro package has over 140 channels, including 20 sports channels (plus 20 BeIN SPORTS and TUDN channels), and popular channels like Disney Channel, HGTV, and MSNBC.

When you upgrade to the Elite package, you'll get 205 channels, which includes more news, lifestyle, and sports channels, such as CNBC World and NBA TV.

And if you want the most channels fuboTV offers, the Ultimate plan includes niche news channels (like Bloomberg TV+) SHOWTIME channels.

fuboTV's Pro package includes the following channels:

  • BBC America
  • Disney Channel
  • ESPN, ESPN2
  • Food Network
  • FOX News
  • Freeform

We delve deeper into which sports channels each package has (because those are arguably the most important), so scroll down just a little.

How much are fuboTV’s premium channels and add-ons?

We’re about to get into fuboTV’s biggest flaw —fuboTV doesn't have HBO channels or Max.

But we do like the idea of getting SHOWTIME, STARZ, and MGM+ for $20 and saving $6 per month though. That's $72 per year that can go toward your Christmas shopping.

At least Max has its own app, so you’ll just have to get that streaming service separate from this live TV provider to watch Euphoria.

Which sports channels does fuboTV have?

fuboTV will give you the highest number of sports channels than any other live TV streaming service (or cable TV and satellite provider).

This is where you'll find your national and international sports channels all in one place. You also have the option to add NBA Leauge Pass to your service.

With the Pro plan, you’ll get close to 40 sports channels (including beIN and TUDN channels). But we recommend upgrading to the Elite plan to access close to 50! The Premier package has the same sports channels as the Elite.

Sports channels included in the fuboTV Pro plan are the following:

  • AT&T SportsNet
  • Altitude Sports (regional network)
  • BeIN Sports
  • BeIN Sports (4–8)
  • BeIN Sports En Español
  • Big Ten Network
  • CBS Sports Network
  • ESPN, ESPN2
  • FOX Sports (FS1), FS2
  • fubo Sports Network
  • Golf Channel
  • NBC Sports Network
  • NFL Network
  • Origin Sports
  • PAC-12 Network
  • TUDN (Univision Deportes Network)
  • TUDN Extra (1–11)

In the fuboTV Elite and Premire plans, you get all of the sports channels above and the following:

  • ACC Network (ACCN)
  • ESPNU
  • ESPNews
  • MLB Network
  • NBA TV
  • NHL Network
  • PAC-12 Network
  • Pac-12 Mountain (or your regional network)
  • SEC Network
  • Tennis Channel
  • Zona Fútbol

Does fuboTV have on-demand content?

fuboTV has popular TV shows and movies for you and the family to watch whenever you’d like. So you don’t have to wait until it’s on live TV or until after you’ve recorded it.

You might like to watch Moneyball, Modern Family, or America's Got Talent, while the kids watch Baby Einstein Classics or Doc McStuffins.

Which devices are compatible with fuboTV?

You can watch Family Feud on your smartphone at the airport or your smart TV with the whole family. You can pretty much stream fuboTV on any updated streaming device.

  • iPhone, iPad
  • Android smartphone and tablet
  • Apple TV
  • Android TV
  • Roku
  • Amazon Fire TV
  • Samsung Smart TV
  • Chromecast
  • Online
  • Mac
  • Windows
  • Xbox

With fuboTV, you can have 10 at-home simultaneous streams. That's a lot! But, not the "at-home" part.

Let me explain. All 10 family members can stream on their own device at once while at home. This means if your Dad is streaming at home and you want to stream while at the airport ... no can do.

We should also mention that fuboTV suggests you have at least a 20 Mbps internet connection for a clear and consistent stream. (Not sure what internet speed you have? Test it out with our tool.)

How much storage space does fuboTV’s DVR have?

fuboTV's DVR is the best its ever been

All plans include 250–1,000 hours of DVR storage.

The Latino plan has 250 hours of DVR storage and the Pro, Elite and Premier plans give you 1,000. Behind YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV, that's the most storage space any live TV streaming service offers.

Keep in mind that the 1,000 hours is divided between all profiles. So if you and three roommates are using one account, you might have to inform the others that they shouldn't go over 250 DVR storage hours.

But this is still enough DVR storage space that won’t limit how many soccer games, movies, and cooking shows you record, and they'll be saved for forever (or until you delete them).

How does fuboTV work?

fuboTV’s interface is our favorite among other live TV streaming services

When you first open up fuboTV, your Home tab shows you personal recommendations, such as live TV channels, featured programs, live sporting events, and recommended on-demand content.

This is similar to other live TV streaming services in the industry.

fuboTV home page November 2022

We like how fuboTV gives you multiple tabs at the top to help you find exactly what you want. This is similar to Hulu + Live TV, but YouTube TV only has three tabs: Library, Home, and Live.

The Sports tab first recommends featured sports shows and events. When you scroll down, you'll find a mini guide with only sports channels.

What we really like is the fact that you can either use the drop-down menu to find a specific sport, or you have those handy subtabs at the top to take you to content for soccer, football, golf, racing, and other sports.

Next to the Sports tab, you'll find your on-demand content organized by Shows and Movies.

fuboTV’s Guide is the best in the industry, and we'll highlight why:

  • There is a convenient drop-down menu on the left to change the date.
  • Below that, fuboTV has a menu to choose a genre of channels to easily get to a channel you're in the mood for.
  • If you're looking for a specific channel, fuboTV has a channel search bar at the top to get to your favorite channel within a few seconds.
  • And last but not least, when you hover over the programming, a Record button conveniently pops up.
fuboTV guide tab November 2022

And when you go to your recordings, they’re organized from newest to oldest. And you get a search bar to find your show or movie easily!

YouTube TV and Hulu Live both don't have a search bar in its Library. Hulu Live organizes its recordings by TV Shows, Movies, Sports, etc. and YouTube TV doesn't lay out all of your recordings on one screen. Instead, you have to scroll to the right as if you were browsing "Recommended TV Shows".

Recap: Is fuboTV worth it?

It’s perfect for families who absolutely love sports, entertainment, lifestyle, and kids channels

Do you want to watch live sports? Do you also want lifestyle, entertainment, kids, and news channels? Would you like more than 140 channels? Like the idea of watching on-demand content anytime you want?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, fuboTV is worth it for you.

These are the reasons why we recommend each of the three fuboTV plans:

  • Pro: This plan is perfect for most families with over 140 channels for kids, news, sports, and lifestyle. You'll get 1,000 DVR storage hours, ten at-home simultaneous streams, and lots of on-demand content for $75 per month. The only reason we wouldn't recommend this plan is if you'd like more sports, news, and SHOWTIME channels.
  • Elite: For just $10 more, this plan is for the fans who can’t miss an NBA game on NBA TV. It's for those who want to watch the Astros fight for another World Series on MLB Network. It’s for the fans who want to watch all of their Boston Bruins games on NHL Network. And it’s for the lifestyle and entertainment fans who need the Cooking Channel, Game Show Network, and People TV. This one’s for you.
  • Premier: We recommend upgrading to the Premier plan if you're already going to order SHOWTIME. You'll get over 215 channels, and it'll be worth the $95 per month if you like Super Pumped, George & Tammy, and extra news channels.

If you’re still unsure if this is the live TV streaming service for you, we recommend checking out YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, or Sling TV. Our reviews cover everything you need to know, like channel lineups, DVR’s, and pricing.

FAQs

With all of fuboTV's plans, you and the family get 10 simultaneous streams. But there's a catch.

All 10 family members can stream on their own device at once while at home. This means if your spouse is streaming at home and you want to stream while waiting in a long line, no can do.
